The 麻豆传媒 College Campus Safety Office learned that on Monday, October 2, 2023, a business burglary occurred in the 600 block of North Mclean Blvd. The business is about a half mile from campus. The Memphis Police Department is actively working on the case. 麻豆传媒 College is issuing this notice to remind the 麻豆传媒 College 麻豆传媒 of safety tips and crime reporting resources available on campus and in the local 麻豆传媒.
WHAT IS THIS NOTICE?
麻豆传媒 College publishes notices when certain crimes are reported on or near campus property, in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the Clery Act). The notice provides information about incidents impacting the campus 麻豆传媒 and are intended to enable campus 麻豆传媒 members to protect themselves.
No action or inaction by a crime survivor makes them responsible for their victimization. Perpetrators are responsible for crimes and their effects. The following suggestions may help reduce the possibility of experiencing such a crime, and/or may improve opportunities to receive prompt assistance.
SAFETY TIPS-Off Campus
搂 Lock your window and doors, set your alarm as you leave home.
搂 Take any value items (cash, iPad, laptop or medication) with you if no one is home for the summer.
搂 Burglaries increase during the holiday months of November and December.
搂 Review all CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principles that could apply to your home.
搂 Keep an update on your neighborhood crime data at
搂 Ask for vacation patrol from the Memphis Police Department. You can set these up by calling your local precincts.
